Peach Cobbler is a baked dessert similar to a pie--they have 2 parts: the crust and the peach filling--which bond together when baked. Other similar desserts include Bettys, grunts, slumps and crisps. The crust can be poured on the top, on the bottom, or both. Some recipes involve doing a lattice top.
